An exercise program using a range of equipment from FitPAWS which includes wobble boards, cavaletti poles, balance pads, peanuts, balance discs, and FITbones that can be very beneficial. Exercising on this equipment improves a dog’s balance and proprioception (the sense of knowing where a body part is in space). Peanuts and FITbones are used for increasing range of motion and flexibility, improving reflexes and building up muscle tone and endurance.

Massage utilizes soft tissue manipulation to achieve different goals such as relaxation, stimulation, and relief of muscle problems. It allows the body to function efficiently. Massage increases circulation bringing oxygen and nutrients to the tissues. Massage provides relief from many common ailments as well as enhances performance.
Massage can increase circulation and oxygenation to the cells of the body; decrease pain; soreness and stiffness; restore muscle tone; improve muscle function; increase flexibility and range of motion; and encourage relaxation and stress reduction.
Appropriately timed in the rehabilitation process, cold therapy can be very beneficial in decreasing pain and inflammation. Initially, in the first 72 hours, we use cold therapy to decrease the pain and inflammation associated with surgery or trauma. This occurs by decreasing pain perception, decreasing blood flow and decreasing inflammation.
